1. Who we are

MUTTS BUTTS LTD(“Muttsbutts”) is the controller for the personal data we collect through muttsbuttsco.com. Registered in England & Wales, company 14520231, at 9 Maple Road, Bramhall, SK7 2DH, Stockport, United Kingdom. Contact: support@muttsbuttsco.com.

2. What we collect

We only collect data we actually need to run the shop:

  • Account & orders: name, email, postal address, phone, order history.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe — we never see your full card number.
  • Support: messages you send to support@muttsbuttsco.com or the contact form.
  • Usage: aggregated analytics if you opted in (page views, device class).

3. Why we use it (legal bases)

  • Contract: to take payment, ship the order, run returns.
  • Legitimate interest: to prevent fraud, improve the product, and keep the site running.
  • Consent: for newsletters and optional analytics cookies — you can withdraw any time.
  • Legal obligation: to meet UK tax, accounting, and consumer-law requirements.

4. Who we share with

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Royal Mail / Parcelforce / DHL — shipping carriers, address only.
  • Resend / Postmark — transactional email (order confirmations).
  • Vercel — site hosting.
  • Supabase — database, encrypted and located in the EU.

5. How long we keep it

Order records for 7 years (UK tax law). Marketing data until you unsubscribe. Support messages for up to 2 years after the last reply.

6. International transfers

Most data stays in the EU/UK. Some processors (e.g. Stripe, Vercel) operate globally; transfers outside the UK rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent UK transfer mechanisms.

7. Your rights

Under UK and EU GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of your data.
  • Rectify — correct what we hold.
  • Erase — delete your data (subject to legal obligations).
  • Restrict — pause our processing while we sort it out.
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
  • Object — to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent — for any consent-based processing.

To exercise any of these, email support@muttsbuttsco.com. We respond within one month. If we get it wrong, you can complain to the UK ICO at ico.org.uk.

8. Security

The whole site runs over HTTPS. Passwords (when accounts launch) are hashed with industry-standard algorithms. Payment cards are tokenised by Stripe — we never store them.

9. Children

Muttsbutts is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, write to us and we'll delete it.

10. Updates

When we change this policy materially, we'll update the date at the top and, where relevant, email account holders.
